Shipping Policy

All products will be shipped by UPS, FedEx, Common Carrier or USPS for some of the small items.

Buyer is responsible for shipping fees.  Shipping fees will be calculated by the destination, actual weight and size of the package.  You will only be charged the actual shipping fee on your order.  Neither I or my suppliers are in business to make money on shipping fees.

Because all of my items are handmade when the order is placed the actual shipping fees cannot be determined until your item is weighed and packaged.  Shipping fees are determined by the destination, weight and dimensions of your item.  

Note: Shipping on the larger items can be quite expensive, I try get you the best shipping rate available. 

For large items that are shipped through Common Carrier will be curb side delivery only.  Someone 18 years old or over must be present to receive the shipment if you have ordered a large item.  It is the buyers responsibility to examine the package when delivered and make note of any damage to package on the bill of lading before signing.  It is recommended you show the damage to the driver and ask him to note it on the bill of lading as well.   Buyer is responsible for moving the item from the tail of the truck/trailer into your home/business, an extra charge applies if the freight driver has to unload and move your item.  Additional charges will apply for lift gate and inside delivery.  Extra fees, if any, will be included in your PayPal invoice.  Any additional charges must be paid by the requester.

I notify you when your order is ready to ship.  Shipping fees will be billed to you through PayPal at that time.  Orders will not ship until all shipping fees are paid in full.

It is the buyers responsibility to examine your package when delivered.  For packaging damage delivered by FedEx or UPS contact GJWS before opening your package.  It is recommended you take pictures of the package damage delivered by Common Carrier, FedEx or UPS.  If delivered by Common Carrier show the damage to the driver and ask him to note it on the bill of lading and you must also note the damage before you sign.  In cases of damages, you must contact the shipper for resolution.  If nothing is noted on the bill of lading damages will not be covered.  If you notice damage to your item while opening your package you should at that point stop and take pictures than call FedEx, UPS or Common Carrier and report the damage.  The carrier must see the packaging where the damage has occurred to honor your claim.  If you do not do this your claim may be denied.

Damage Return requests must be reported to GJWS, FedEx, UPS or Common Carrier within 24 hours of receipt of your order or your damage claim may be denied.  You must save all of the original packaging the order was shipped in.  For a claim to be made, you will have to show the damage to the shipper.  You will need the information on the shipping label when you contact FedEx, UPS or Common Carrier.  Damaged items will be replaced with the same item only.  There will be no restocking fee on damaged items. 

Please Note:  No repairs will be made or refunds issued should you choose not to contact GJWS within the times noted above "No Exceptions".

Note:  Insurance is not included in the shipping fee.  This is a small fee to protect your item.  Damages are very rare but, I recommend my buyer's purchase insurance in case a shipping damage does occur.  If your item is shipped through a Common Carrier I will contact the Common Carrier to see what the insurance rate will be if you request insurance coverage and let you know the amount.  Please see Insurance Coverage below for items shipped through FedEx and UPS.  Neither Granny Jane's Wood Shed nor supplier will be held responsible once order leaves the supplier if insurance is not requested when ordering.

Insurance Coverage:
GJWS will not be held responsible for orders that are damaged during shipping.  Orders shipped through UPS or FedEx are insured for the first $100.00 of damage incurred during shipping.  Insurance on orders over $100.00 will be at the buyer's expense.  This is a very small fee.  If you want your order over $100.00 to be insured please make note in the comments section and GJWS will invoice you for the small insurance fee.  If you are ordering anything breakable it is worth the small fee.  In cases of damages, you must contact the shipping company for resolution.  If you item is shipping through a Common Carrier I will contact the Common Carrier to see what the insurance rate will be if you request insurance coverage and let you know the amount.  If you have a question on an item GJWS will be happy to assist you. 

My suppliers will repair damage at buyer's expense.  Buyer will be responsible for all shipping fees to and from the supplier for the repair.  Neither Granny Jane's Wood Shed nor my supplier will be held liable for replacement of products, refund, expenses or damages incurred by the shipping company.

I ship to the 48 contiguous United States.  I do not ship to Canada, Alaska or Hawaii.
